Objectives of the Course

To be able to recognize basic human rights and recognize the rights of children and women; to define the concepts of Rights and Discrimination, to gain awareness of the problems experienced by children and women and to gain the ability to analyze these social problems; to ensure that students become aware of the basic social problems covered in the course.

Course Content

Within the framework of the concept of rights, the fundamental human rights and the framework of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights; the problems experienced by children, the historical development of children's rights and the UN Declaration of the Rights of the Child; the historical development of women's rights, the problems experienced by women, gender discrimination and violence against women are discussed.
