Noncommunicable diseases are a major public health problem that undermines social and economic development worldwide and leads to increased inequalities between countries and within populations, among other effects. The common point about these diseases, which constitute a major global problem, is that, apart from some unchangeable factors such as family history and genetic basis, many of the underlying causes are completely preventable risk factors. A significant part of NCDs can be reduced by preventive measures against four basic risk factors such as smoking, insufficient physical activity, excessive alcohol use and unhealthy nutrition. It is possible to significantly reduce these diseases by combating risk factors, early diagnosis and timely treatment. The aim of this course is; To raise public awareness about these modifiable risk factors in the prevention of non-communicable diseases, to draw attention to good practices, to encourage healthy behaviors and lifestyles, and to raise awareness through activities to be held in this context.
