Objectives of the Course

To enable students to gain knowledge and experience about the purpose of use, safety and to recognize and evaluate herbal ingredients in cosmetic product formulations.

Course Content

General definitions of cosmetics; conditions determining activity in plants; essential oils, fixed oils, extracts, resins and tars, tinctures, distilled aromatic waters, isolated pure compounds used in phytocosmetics; in anti-aging creams; in sun preparations; in preparations against hair loss; in anti-hair growth preparations; in cellulite treatment preparations; in acne preparations; Evaluation of plants in skin stain removal preparations.

Learning Outcomes
1.To be able to recognize the plants used in cosmetics.
2.To be able to interpret the use of essential oils, fixed oils, extracts, resins and tars, tinctures, distilled aromatic waters used in phytocosmetics.
3.Anti aging preparations, sun preparations; preparations against hair loss; anti-hair growth preparations; cellulite preparations; acne preparations; To be able to evaluate the plants in the skin stain removal preparations.
4.To be able to interpret the reliability of plants used in cosmetics.
5.to be able to recognize herbal cosmetic raw materials
