Objectives of the Course

In this lecture, the student acquires knowledge and skills regarding first aid practices and precautions to be taken at the scene in order to protect and sustain the lives of individuals or groups in unexpected and sudden situations such as accidents, diseases and disasters that may be encountered in daily life.

Course Content

The definition, basic principles, purpose and legal aspects of first and emergency aid, situations requiring first and emergency aid, accidents and injuries are explained. Patient and injured handling techniques and basic life support are demonstrated. Responses to shock, poisoning and insect bites will be taught. The maneuver to be applied in case of respiratory obstruction will be explained.
