Objectives of the Course

The objective of this course is to introduce the core teaching principles, strategies, theories, and approaches to be used in early childhood education; and to provide students with the competence to plan and implement individual, group, and extracurricular teaching techniques through activities appropriate to children's developmental needs.

Course Content

Basic concepts related to learning and teaching, teaching principles, contemporary and traditional learning-teaching theories; teaching strategies (expository, discovery, research-inquiry); group and individual teaching techniques; active learning models in early childhood, thinking skills techniques, and extracurricular/digital teaching approaches.

1.Defines the basic concepts, theoretical approaches, and core teaching principles related to learning and teaching within the context of early childhood education.
2.Distinguishes teaching strategies through exposition, discovery, and research-inquiry in classroom processes in accordance with the developmental needs of children.
3.Effectively implements group and individual teaching techniques (educational games, station work, brainstorming, etc.) for early childhood children.
4.Integrates the methodological techniques of contemporary/alternative instructional systems into educational environments.
5.Designs original activities suitable for in-class and extracurricular teaching methods that support children's critical and creative thinking skills.

Teaching Principles: Appropriateness to the Child, from Near to Far, from Concrete to Abstract, from Known to Unknown, and Activity Principles.
Week 3 - Theoretical
Learning-Teaching Approaches and Theories I: Reflections of Behavioral and Cognitive Approaches in Early Childhood.
Week 4 - Theoretical
Learning-Teaching Approaches and Theories II: Constructivist Approach, Multiple Intelligences Theory, and Brain-Based Learning.
Week 5 - Theoretical
Learning-Teaching Strategies: In-Class Applications of Teaching Strategies Through Exposition, Discovery, and Research-Inquiry.
Week 6 - Theoretical
Core Teaching Methods: The Role of Lecture, Discussion, Case Study, and Problem-Solving Methods in Child Development.
