To enable associate degree students to comprehend the concepts of social responsibility, civil society, volunteering, and community service at a theoretical level. Within the scope of this course, it is aimed for students to learn the processes of identifying current social problems (childhood, environment, health, education, etc.), preparing scientifically-grounded solution projects for these problems, and organizing/participating in panels and scientific activities; alongside mastering the planning, ethical, and administrative principles of social projects that can be implemented in preschool educational institutions.
Conceptual framework, importance, and historical development of community service practices; social problem analysis and needs assessment methods; social project design processes (planning, budgeting, sustainability); organizational dynamics of scientific and social activities such as panels, conferences, and symposia; the philosophy of volunteering and the operations of non-governmental organizations; structuring community service projects in educational institutions and at the preschool level; and monitoring, evaluating, and reporting projects in accordance with professional/ethical rules.
