The objective of this course is to introduce the historical process and genres of children's literature, along with the internal and external characteristics of printed works; and to provide students with the competence to select high-quality literature and media content and guide children by analyzing the effects of digital media tools, cartoons, and children's publications on developmental domains.
Definition, concepts, and developmental effects of children's literature; principles of book selection in infancy and preschool periods; external and internal characteristics of children's books; traditional genres of children's literature; digital children's media, cartoons, digital literacy, censorship in children's publications, gender roles, and media guidance.
