Objectives of the Course

The objective of this course is to convey the importance and basic principles of recognizing children in early childhood; to introduce observational, self-expression, and sociometric techniques practically; and to provide students with the competence to reflect recognition and evaluation results into educational processes and prepare developmental reports.

Course Content

Principles of recognizing and evaluating children in early childhood, ethical rules in child assessment; observation, anecdotal records, rating scales, checklists; child interviews, surveys, wish lists, sociometry, guess-who, and role-playing techniques; parent interviews, home visits, portfolio management, and writing developmental reports.

1.Explains the basic principles, objectives, and ethical rules of recognizing and evaluating children in early childhood education.
2.Prepares and implements objective observations, anecdotal records, checklists, and rating scales to monitor children's developmental characteristics.
3.Conducts interviews, surveys, wish lists, sociometry, and role assignment techniques appropriately for the early childhood period.
4.Systematically manages parent interviews, home visits, and portfolio processes to recognize the child holificationally.
5.Writes developmental reports with pedagogical language using obtained recognition and evaluation data and utilizes results in individualizing the educational program.
