Objectives of the Course

The main objective of this course is to reveal the economic aspects of global warming and climate change, and to explain the concept of green economy as a part of the sustainable development process.

Course Content

The relationship between greenhouse gases, global warming, and climate change will be explained. Economic factors contributing to climate change will be presented. The relationship between fossil fuel use, economic growth, population increase, agricultural and forestry activities, and climate change will be discussed in detail. The concept of sustainable development will be introduced, and international developments in this field will be presented in chronological order. Systems related to the concept of sustainable development, such as the green economy and the blue economy, will be explained.
