Objectives of the Course

To enable students to understand the structure, functioning and social roles of local media; become familiar with local journalism practices; and produce news, audio-visual and social media content for digital local media environments.

Course Content

Historical development of local media; the local media system in Türkiye; local journalism and news values; local newspaper, radio and television broadcasting; digital and hyperlocal journalism; mobile journalism; social media management; local media economics; media ethics, verification and applied content production.
