The aim of this course is to enable preschool teacher candidates to recognize the scientific process skills that form the basis of science education in early childhood; to gain competence in classroom environments that support children's scientific curiosity, activity planning, implementation and evaluation processes; and to design effective and creative science activities in line with contemporary approaches and current research.
The course begins with the basic principles and importance of science education in early childhood; focuses on scientific process skills, approaches that support scientific curiosity (STEM, project, nature-based and inquiry-based learning), research investigations, and activity design based on children's questions. It also includes artificial intelligence-supported planning tools, activity applications and presentations, and student evaluations.
