The general aim of this course is to enable students to acquire the knowledge, skills, and competencies necessary to understand the fundamental concepts and theories in the field of close relationships, learn about relationship processes, gain insight into common issues experienced in close relationships, and critically follow and evaluate research conducted in the field of close relationships.

Theories, models, and contemporary research findings in the field of close relationships provide students with a comprehensive understanding of the formation, development, and maintenance of romantic, marital, friendship, and family relationships. Through the examination of theoretical perspectives on attachment, relationship satisfaction, commitment, communication, conflict resolution, and other relationship processes, students gain the ability to analyze close relationships from a scientific perspective. The course also enables students to explore common challenges encountered in close relationships and critically evaluate current research in the field, thereby developing the knowledge and skills necessary to understand, interpret, and apply relationship-related concepts in professional practice.
