Objectives of the Course

The course aims to provide students with the historical and conceptual knowledge necessary to understand the social, economic and cultural factors affecting Turkish politics.

Course Content

In this course, important issues, actors, events and the changes they caused in Turkey's political life from the last period of the Ottoman Empire to the present are examined from a political, economic and social perspective.

Learning Outcomes
1.To enable students to examine Turkey's political life by dividing it into historical periods.
2.To enable students to evaluate current problems in Turkish political life within the framework of historical continuity.
3.To ensure that students have knowledge about the last period of the Ottoman Empire, the War of Independence and the early Republic period.
4.To enable students to understand the important changes in Turkish political life.
5.To ensure that students know the historical, economic and political background of the changes in Turkey's political life.
