Objectives of the Course

"Cinema and Political History" course aims to enable students to understand political history events and processes through cinema. This course aims to enable students to examine issues such as historical events, leaders, revolutions, wars and social changes through films and to develop their critical thinking skills on these issues.

Course Content

"Cinema and Political History" course aims to enable students to understand political history events and processes through cinema. Within the scope of this course, films dealing with topics such as ancient history, the Middle Ages, the Renaissance, world wars, the cold war and contemporary history will be watched and then discussions and evaluations will be made on these films. Students will develop a critical perspective on political history issues through film analysis.

Learning Outcomes
1.Students will be able to critically analyze historical events and processes through the films they watch.
2.Students will be able to apply political history theories to real-world events and situations through cinema.
3.Students will gain a deeper understanding and awareness of political events and issues that occurred in different historical periods.
4.Students will enhance their communication and discussion skills through group discussions and film evaluations, improving their ability to listen to and advocate for different perspectives.
5.Students will strengthen their written and oral expression skills by writing film analyses and evaluation reports, gaining experience in structuring academic arguments.
