Objectives of the Course

The aim of this course is to provide a general understanding of the basic concepts related to the discipline of political science such as state, politics, power, democracy, political participation, sovereignty, constitution, political parties. In addition, the course also aims to establish an interdisciplinary relationship between Political Science and International Relations.

Course Content

Politics, Sovereignty, Culture, Globalization, Power, Political Parties, Secularism, Social Classes, Hegemony.

1.To provide general and academic information about the concepts and theories of political science.
2.To understand the transformation of the concept of politics from past to present
3.To developing perspective on power and the nature of power
4.To provide analytical academic knowledge on the emergence, establishment and transformation of political structures and institutions.
5.To provide a historical and methodological perspective to diagnose and resolve fundamental problems in current political issues.
