Specialization Course. The course International Social Policy and European Union Social Policy aims to help students understand international developments in social policy, European Union social policies, and global social policy trends. The course analyzes the application of social policies at both national and international levels, explores the social policy strategies of the European Union, and discusses how these policies interact with member states. Students will learn key topics such as social policy theories, social security systems, poverty alleviation, labor market policies, and equality, enabling them to develop solutions to the challenges faced in the global context of social policy.
This course provides a comprehensive examination of international social policy and the social policy strategies of the European Union. The course content includes an exploration of social policy theories, global social policy practices, how the social policy framework of the European Union is shaped, and how it interacts with member states. Topics such as labor market policies, equality, poverty alleviation, and social security systems will be discussed within the context of the European Union’s social policies. Students will gain the ability to analyze the evolution of social policies at both national and international levels and assess how these policies influence social welfare.
