Objectives of the Course

The aim of this course is to enhance students’ advanced English reading, writing, listening, and speaking skills within the field of international relations. Through the use of selected academic texts and up-to-date resources from the international relations literature, students will improve their command of academic English, specialized terminology, and skills in analysis and discussion. The course also aims to enable students to comprehend field-specific texts, effectively summarize and discuss them, and produce written work in accordance with academic standards.

Course Content

This course aims to develop students' advanced English reading, writing, listening, and speaking skills in the field of international relations. Throughout the course, students’ command of academic English, their knowledge of terminology, as well as their analytical and discussion skills will be strengthened through academic texts and current sources. The program includes advanced grammar, basic concepts and terminology, reading, summarizing, academic writing, listening and note-taking, presentation techniques, and practice in debate and negotiation. By the end of the semester, students are expected to effectively understand and analyze texts related to international relations, summarize and discuss them, and produce written and oral texts in accordance with academic standards.
