Objectives of the Course

The aim of this course is to enable students to use advanced English effectively and authentically in the field of international relations by enhancing their academic and professional reading, writing, listening, and speaking skills through practice-based activities. Students will analyze field-specific texts, write reports and summaries, and participate in academic discussions and presentations to strengthen their communication and negotiation competencies. In this way, they will acquire the knowledge and skills necessary to use English efficiently in both academic and professional contexts.

Course Content

This course consists of practice-based activities designed to enhance students’ advanced English language skills in the field of international relations. Throughout the course, students reinforce various language competencies such as reading field-related texts, writing summaries and reports, listening, engaging in discussions, presentations, and negotiations using real-life and contemporary examples. Thus, students gain effective communication and analytical skills for both academic and professional settings.

1.Students will be able to read contemporary texts in international relations and identify main ideas and details.
2.Students will be able to write field-specific English texts such as academic summaries, reports, and policy briefs.

4.Students will improve their oral communication skills by delivering individual and group presentations on topics related to the field.
5.Students will gain analytical and critical thinking skills by participating in discussion and negotiation activities on current international issues.
