Objectives of the Course

The aim of this course is to determine the continuities and changes in Russian foreign policy from the foundation of the first Russian state. In this context, the process of development of Russian identity, culture and history from Kievan Rus to Russian Federation will be emphasized and the historical ground of contemporary Russian foreign policy will be revealed.

Course Content

The transformations in the economic, social and political structure of the state and the corresponding foreign policy developments will be analysed from the Kievan Rus to the Russian Federation.
