Objectives of the Course

Students learn classical and modern methods in plant propagation

Course Content

Important external and internal factors for the development of plants, vegetative and generative production methods, totipotency, tissue culture laboratory organization, sterilization techniques, rapid propagation methods, rapid propagation methods used for different purposes, biorectors, water cultures.

Week 1 - Theoretical & Practice
The importance of rapid propagation techniques is understood, and laboratory procedures are explained.
Week 2 - Theoretical & Practice
Plant propagation methods, vegetative and generative propagation methods. Laboratory materials are introduced.
Week 3 - Theoretical & Practice
Plant cell and tissue culture, the concept of totipotency. Applies solution preparation techniques.
Week 4 - Theoretical & Practice
Organization of plant tissue laboratory used in rapid propagation
Week 5 - Theoretical & Practice
Mediums used for plant production and their properties, medium preparation
Week 6 - Theoretical & Practice
Sterilization techniques and problem solving. Autoclave, microwave, filter, and explanar sterilization.
Week 7 - Theoretical & Practice
Plant tissue culture techniques used in rapid propagation. A culture is created.
Week 8 - Theoretical & Practice
Plant growth regulators. A plant growth regulator stock solution is prepared.
Week 9 - Theoretical & Practice
Plant tissue culture techniques used in rapid propagation. Cultures are evaluated.
Week 10 - Theoretical & Practice
Rapid propagation techniques in fruit trees. Cultivation is subculturing.
Week 11 - Theoretical & Practice
Rapid propagation techniques in ornamental plants. Case studies are examined.T
Week 12 - Theoretical & Practice
Rapid propagation techniques are used in the conservation of genetic resources. The resulting shoots are transferred to the rooting medium.
