Objectives of the Course

To provide information about the classification of herbicides, factors that increase the effectiveness of herbicide application, selectivity, resistance and action mechanisms of herbicides.

Course Content

This course provides information on the classification of herbicides according to application time, chemical structure, transport and mobility in plants, and selectivity; important concepts in herbicide physiology; factors affecting herbicide efficacy; selection mechanisms in herbicides; mechanisms of action of herbicides and the symptoms they cause in plants; and herbicide resistance and management.

Name of Lecturer(s)
Lec. Filiz ERBAŞ
Prof. Mehmet Nedim DOĞAN
Learning Outcomes
1.The important concepts in herbicide physiology are learned
2.The mechanisms of selectivity and resistance to herbicides, and the considerations to be taken into account in preventing and managing herbicide resistance are learned
3.The concepts used in the classification of herbicides are learned
4.The factors affecting herbicide effectiveness and the precautions to be taken when applying herbicides are learned. The calibration calculations are reinforced.
5.The mechanisms of action of herbicides, the symptoms they cause, important herbicides, and what to consider when recommending herbicides are learned.
