Objectives of the Course

The aim of course is to study all stages in agricultural production, from seed sowing to harvest, output, hoeing, fertilizing, watering, harvesting and threshing demonstration of practical operations for students. Thus, the students are aimed to increase their knowledge to practice

Learning Outcomes
1.Understanding the place of field crop education in agricultural engineering, being able to see its place in the private sector, and being able to articulate it.
2.To be able to observe the output frequency and being able to report this throughout the vegetation period and provide suıtable plant frequency per hectare.
3.Awareness of agricultural activities and research on field crops carried out in our region.
4.To understand the situation of public and private institutions in our country regarding field crops.
5.On-site observation and participation in plant production activities under field conditions and being able to report this.

Week 1 - Theoretical & Practice
Surveying and classification of field crops seed collection
Week 2 - Theoretical & Practice
Seed characteristics (purity, 1000 grain weight, hectolitre weight, moisture content, germination tests, etc.)
Week 3 - Theoretical & Practice
A discourse with a representative of an agricultural chemicals OR fertilizer company
Week 4 - Theoretical & Practice
The importance of seed bed AND Time of tillage, tillage depth, tillage tools and machines, parcelling
Week 5 - Theoretical & Practice
The use of tools; marker, etc., planting operations (time, depth, method, etc.), dilution and misfire
