Objectives of the Course

To determine the basic concepts of the economy, the functioning of the economy, the economic problems faced by households, companies and countries, to teach analytical thinking about these problems and to gain the ability to analyze related issues.

Course Content

Basic economic concepts, markets, price theory, elasticities, consumption and production theories, production costs, macroeconomic concepts, national income, employment, money events and banking system

Learning Outcomes
1.Will be able to define basic microeconomic and macroeconomic concepts and analyze economic phenomena within this framework.
2.Will be able to explain supply, demand, elasticity, and price formation mechanisms and evaluate their effects on market equilibrium.
3.Will be able to analyze consumer and producer behavior and interpret the relationships among consumer equilibrium, producer equilibrium, and profit maximization.
4.Will be able to evaluate the functioning of major macroeconomic indicators such as national income, inflation, employment, economic growth, development, and welfare.
5.Will be able to explain the role of money and banking systems within the economy and evaluate their effects on economic decision-making processes.
