Objectives of the Course

The aim of this course is to give the anatomy of the reproductive organs, reproductive hormones, general reproductive functions, biotechnical applications for improving of reproductive performance and sexual behaviour of livestock.

Course Content

The anatomy of reproductive organs of farm animals, hormones, puberty, reproductive physiology of livestock, lactation, hormonal control of reproduction, embryo transfer and cloning, reproductive behaviour in farm animals.

Learning Outcomes
1.To be able to recognize the anatomy of the reproductive organs of farm animals
2.To be able to explain the function of reproductive hormones
3.To be able to analyze the changes that have challenged in oestrus, fertilization, pregnancy, birth and lactation periods associated with physiology of female reproductive organs.
4.To be able to explain the hormonal mechanism of spermatogenesis
5.To be able to criticize the benefits and disadvantages of artificial insemination
6.To be able to cognize the embryo transfer, cloning and hormonal control of reproduction that are effective in improving the reproductive efficiency.
7.To be able to criticize sexual behavior and reproductive activity in mammals.
