The aims of the Landscape Architecture education are to enable the landscape architecture students; to maintain and develop landscapes with the knowledge of art, science, engineering and technology and to educate landscape architect on designing, planning, reclamation and management from local scale to regional scale.
History
The Department of Landscape Architecture was established in 1992 and 2017 there are 6 lecturers, 2 research asistants (PhD) and one research assistant in the department. The department will be enter into the educational program in 2012-2013.
Mission
Our mission is to educate landscape architects who have contemporary thought with current professional knowledge and equipment in the field of landscape architecture, to conduct researches that will contribute to the development of planning, designing, conservation, protection and management of landscape where the values of the area's rich natural and cultural resources, and also to put effort for profession of landscape architecture to be accepted in society.
Vision
Our vision is to nationally recognized and demanded with trained individuals, to be a well-known department at national and international level with the quality of it’s education and teaching and the originality of it’s researches.
Purpose
The aims of the department
• To provide the students with current information about landscape architecture in the educational process
• To ensure the priority preferred among the similar disciplines,
• To be a resounding department with scientific researchs,
• To maintain constant communication with other institutions and to have outward-oriented structure in order to be an institution which recognized and expedient at the national and international events.
• To speed up the process of the our landscape architecture department configuration and to strengthen our academic staff,
• To gain new individuals for our professional discipline and department with ensure the opening ofGraduate Education Programs
• To increase and spread of information which is for the needs of the public and local government, to follow lecturers scientific, artistic and technological developments in order to provide gain experience and enrichment their knowledge
• To produce landscape design project services thus to have a structure to meet the needs of other public bodies and to strength of institutional communication
• To create spaces with the necessary technological equipment for our practical work and lessons, to have necessary and sufficient technological equipment for our department and renew this equipment on a regular basis.
Physical Infrastructure
The basic facilities for education, research and other activities are; 2 design studio, 1 computer room which will be used common with other departments.
