Objectives of the Course

In this course, it is aimed to continue the undergraduate thesis study initiated within the scope of PM403, analyse the research data, evaluate the findings, and transform the research results into a thesis report in accordance with the principles of scientific writing. The course aims to enable students to analyse data, interpret findings, and develop the discussion and conclusion sections in line with the selected research topic or professional problem related to the field of landscape architecture. It also aims to improve students’ ability to present research results in accordance with scientific, visual, oral and written presentation principles.

Course Content

In this course, the undergraduate thesis study is carried out in line with the research topic, problem definition, literature, material and method framework determined within the scope of PM403. The analysis of research data, evaluation of findings, preparation of the discussion and conclusion sections, development of research recommendations, and completion of the thesis writing process constitute the main content of the course. Within the scope of the course, students are expected to prepare data analysis, findings evaluation, an interim report, a final report, the thesis text and seminar/presentation outputs under the supervision of the advisor academic staff member. The assessment of the course is based on report and seminar/presentation studies related to the undergraduate thesis process. Mid-term assessment consists of an interim report including data analysis, preliminary findings and the evaluation process (30%), and an interim seminar/presentation (10%), accounting for 40% of the total grade. The end-of-term assessment consists of the completed thesis report (45%) and the end-of-term seminar/presentation (15%), accounting for 60% of the total grade.
