Objectives of the Course

To explain the natural landscape layer through Turkey's biogeographic regions, flora-fauna distribution, and ecological diversity; and to relate biogeographic characteristics to cultural landscape formation and sustainability.

Course Content

Explains landscape formation through biogeographic regions, flora distribution, and habitat characteristics. Supports understanding of ecological functions through the relationship between biogeographic distribution and vegetation. Relates biogeographic characteristics to cultural landscape formation and sustainability.

Name of Lecturer(s)
Lec. Ferhat KİREMİT
Learning Outcomes
1.Ability to interpret the formation of the natural landscape layer by identifying Turkey's biogeographic regions, flora-fauna distribution, and habitat characteristics.
2.Ability to analyse ecological functions through the relationship between biogeographic distribution and vegetation cover.
3.Ability to explain the effect of biodiversity on landscape character by evaluating endemism and endemic species in Turkey together with their regional distribution.
4.Ability to relate biogeographic characteristics to the concepts of cultural landscape formation and sustainability.
5.Ability to use biogeographic data in professional practice by interpreting protected areas and international conservation statuses (Ramsar, IUCN, IPA, IBA) in the context of landscape planning and management.
