This school was established as Aydin Health School according to Council of Ministers with decision number 96/8655 and date 10.10.1996 in accordance with Law number 2809 as a result of the implementation of a protocol signed between Higher Education Board and Ministry of Health and implementation of Higher Board of Health decisions belong to year 1995. Graduates could be hired by instutitritions which belong to Ministry of health and other Ministries or Private Sector, Schools, Nursing homes, Industrial health centers as aclinical nurse, nurs educator, nurse researcher or nurse manager. Within Aydin School of Health, the first master's degree program in Department of Gynaechology and Obstetric Nursing started in 2005 and the first doctorate program in Department of Medical Nursing started in 2014. Aydın School of Health was closed based on the decision numbered 2016/8555 of the Council of Ministers published in the Official Gazette dated 08.04.2016 and numbered 29678. Faculty of Health Sciences and Faculty of Nursing were established instead of Aydın School of Health with the decision of the Council of Ministers published in the Official Gazette dated 08/04/2016 and numbered 29678. It continues to education as Nursing Faculty and Faculty of Health Sciences. Students of the Nursing Program continue their education in the Faculty of Nursing
