Objectives of the Course

To examine the word Ebru etymologically. To learn the opinions and resources on this subject. To know the stages and the development process from the 15th century, when the first examples were given, to the present. To examine its place in classical and post-Ottoman art and its current situation comparatively. Obtaining references that will shed light on the present by seeing the color and compositional order in historical examples. To make marbling with traditional methods and methods and today's material possibilities.

Course Content

Definition of Calligraphy, Illumination, Glass, Wood and Metal Arts in the Scope of Turkish Handicrafts; Functions of Works and Dimensions of Usage Areas; The Starting Points of the Artifacts Unearthed as a Result of Surveys and Scientific Excavations in General Meaning in the Historical Process with the Support of Written Sources; By analyzing the Development of these Art Branches in Anatolia, Use of Materials, Construction Techniques and Decoration Elements; Works in National and Foreign Museums and Private Collections will be examined.
