The Department of Agricultural Biotechnology consists of faculty members who prioritize biotechnological research. In the Department of Agricultural Biotechnology, students will receive training in many other subjects such as Genetic Engineering, DNA tests, Disease and Parentage test kits, Seed Breeding, Enzyme Production, Microbiological Agents, Genetically Modified Organisms (GMO), which are widely mentioned today. Thanks to the knowledge and techniques they acquire throughout their education life, they will be trained as "Expert Engineers in the field of Agricultural Biotechnology" with a strong infrastructure that can perform detailed analysis of the raw data they will obtain from genome information through computer programs with Bioinformatics methods.
The inevitable use of biotechnological methods in today's competitive conditions has made it compulsory to train qualified manpower in this direction. Students who graduate from the Department of Agricultural Biotechnology can take part in every step of the plant, animal, enzyme and microbial production sector that need to use biotechnological methods in line with the increasing demand in recent years.
Physical Infrastructure
Faculty of Agriculture, Department of Agricultural Biotechnology has 5 well-equipped laboratories, 1 air conditioning room, a sufficient number of classrooms and meeting rooms.
Technical Infrastructure
The technical infrastructure used by the undergraduate and graduate students of the Faculty of Agriculture, Department of Agricultural Biotechnology is as follows. In our laboratories, sterile working cabinet, oven, orbital shaker, precision balance, microscope, vortex device, distilled water device, cooled microcentrifuge, water bath, temperature, conductivity and pH measuring device, incubator, autoclave, magnetic stirrer with heater, deep freezer (-80 °C), light microscope, optical microscope, safety cabinet, pipette set, thermal cycler, horizontal electrophoresis system, electrophoresis power supply, gel imaging system, refrigerator, scale, ice machine, microwave oven, clawenger, cold light source, ultrasonic homogenizer, deep freezer (-20 °C), mini fridge and necessary glassware, automatic pipette sets and chemicals.
