Objectives of the Course

The aim of this course is to introduce the methods followed during the use of devices and consumables in agricultural biotechnology laboratories in laboratory studies and to increase the working habits of students in laboratory conditions

Course Content

Points to be considered while working in the laboratory, use of basic laboratory materials, solution preparation, pH adjustment, sterilization, microscope use, report preparation, preparation of media for microbial studies, determination of basic organic compounds

Introduction to biotechnology laboratories (Basic Equipment) (Skill: Ability to identify basic laboratory instruments and distinguish their functions)
Week 3 - Theoretical & Practice
Laboratory working principles and laboratory safety (Skill: Ability to apply laboratory safety rules and assess potential risks)
Week 4 - Theoretical & Practice
Introduction to laboratory materials and equipment (Skill: Ability to select and use laboratory materials appropriately)

Solutions and basic concepts (Skill: Ability to perform concentration and dilution calculations)

Preparation of solutions (Skill: Ability to prepare solutions with desired properties and concentrations)
