Objectives of the Course

To evaluate soil management in conservation and regenerative agriculture based on sustainable agriculture principles, within the framework of BCI (Better Cotton) standards and practices, using new approaches; and to examine its relationships with soil health, carbon sequestration, water management, biological activity, and climate change, both theoretically and practically.

Course Content

Protective and regenerative agriculture principles; soil texture, structure and aggregate stability; soil organic matter and carbon cycling; soil water retention capacity and water productivity; soil compaction and erosion management; soil organisms, soil-plant water-climate interaction; carbon sequestration and climate change; BCI sustainable production standards; soil health indicators and monitoring methods; regenerative agriculture practices (cover crop, minimum tillage, rotation)
