Objectives of the Course

The aim of this course is tell (explain) of students written and verbal their wishes and demands with their learned German language knowledge after finish of their studies in tourism sector.

Course Content

The objective of this course is teaching of basic German language which they need during their graduate studies and during their works after their studies so that the students can express after their studies in German language what they want.

Weekly Detailed Course Contents
Week 1 - Theoretical
Meeting with students, giving information about the topics to be covered in the spring term, reviewing what was learned last term, Imperative sentences, reading and understanding the Informationsbroschure "Salzburg in 100 Minutes"
Week 2 - Theoretical
Hotel room types and reservation, filling out forms, dialogue at the reception
Week 3 - Theoretical
Listening to, understanding, comprehending, and answering questions about Health and Diseases through illustrated dialogue. Recognizing our bodies, revising the singular and plural forms of our organs with their articles, 1st and 3rd person possessive pronouns
Week 4 - Theoretical
Brief repetition of the last lesson, giving information about the health/disease status of ourselves and others in short sentences, 3. Giving information about the appearance of people
Week 5 - Theoretical
Learning 1st, 2nd and 3rd person plural possessive pronouns through various e-mails
Week 6 - Theoretical
Short review of the last lesson topic, exercises, singular and plural forms of all possessive pronouns, their bare forms and -I cases
Week 7 - Theoretical
Modalfiil “sollen” conjugations according to people, giving instructions, making suggestions, expressing various discomforts and giving advice within the framework of dialogue
Week 8 - Theoretical
Preparation for the midterm exam, repetition of what has been learned and various exercises
Week 9 - Intermediate Exam
Midterm exam
Week 10 - Theoretical
Answering midterm exam questions, general review, introduction to a new topic, "Writing an official information letter", reading and understanding various announcements, matching the given sentences with the announcements and interpreting them
Week 11 - Theoretical
Remembering the last lesson, reading a formal email, how to write a formal email, what are the rules? Identifying all of these with headings, exercises on the topic. Writing official e-mails for various announcements
Week 12 - Theoretical
Written and verbal work on making an appointment by phone, changing an appointment, and canceling an appointment in the form of a dialogue
Week 13 - Theoretical
Listening, understanding, comprehending and answering questions on the topic “In der Stadt unterwegs” through illustrated dialogue
Week 14 - Theoretical
Learning about various places in the city, giving directions on the city plan
Week 15 - Theoretical
Preparation for the final exam, general review
