Objectives of the Course

The objective of this course is to enable students to scientifically analyze the activities carried out by the state to resolve societal problems, along with decision-making mechanisms and policy-making processes. In this regard, it aims to provide students with a solid theoretical foundation by conveying the fundamental concepts, theories, and models of the public policy discipline.

Course Content

This course comprehensively examines the fundamental concepts, actors, theoretical approaches, and the policy cycle of the public policy discipline. Within the scope of the course, how societal problems are defined, how they are brought onto the official agenda, how alternative solution proposals are designed, and how decisions are legitimized are addressed. Additionally, policy implementation processes, success criteria, impact analysis, and the influence of international organizations on domestic policies are analyzed through case studies and contemporary examples.
