This course provides an introduction to International Political Economy (IPE); the basic theories like globalization related to this interdisciplinary field. Students will be introduced to the mainstream theories of IPE along with critical perspectives, the topics of international money and finance, trade and transnational corporations (TNCs), the issues of economic development and North-South relations.
International political economy is a scientific discipline that examines the interaction that took place at the international level between economic and political factors. This discipline has been also recently expressed as global political economy primarily focuses on governments as well as global corporations, activities that occurred between international organizations and various social movements.
