Objectives of the Course

The aim of this course is to introduce students to the fundamental concepts, theories, and practices in the field of political communication. By examining the historical development of political communication, the relationship between media and politics, campaign strategies, and voter behavior, the course seeks to enhance students' knowledge in this area. Additionally, it provides the necessary tools for students to develop critical thinking and analytical skills. This course enables students to understand, analyze, and effectively implement political communication processes.

Course Content

This course provides fundamental knowledge about the political systems within which mass communication tools are structured, the developments such as globalization that affect these structures, and the organization of mainstream and alternative media. Students will examine the role of mass communication tools in political processes and the transformation of these tools in the face of global dynamics. Additionally, by learning the differences between mainstream and alternative media and their impacts on political communication, students will gain the ability to critically evaluate the relationship between political systems and the media.
