Objectives of the Course

This course aims to explain, from a historical and political-economic perspective, why and how the modern state and its modern administrative apparatus emerged, how modern public administration has developed both globally and in Turkiye, and how current global economic and technological changes are reflected in administrative practices.

Course Content

What changes occur in the field of public administration? How is change interpreted in public administration? What are the factors driving change worldwide and in Turkiye? What are the historical steps taken to improve Turkish public administration? How can changes in public administration in Turkiye from the 19th century to the present be categorized? What factors drove changes in public administration after 1980 and after 2000?
