Objectives of the Course

The aim of this course is to understand the political developments from World War I to the end of the Cold War and the historical process to the present and to evaluate and comprehend the changing balances.

Course Content

The interwar period, causes and consequences of World War II, the Cold War era, the USSR and the end of the Cold War.

Learning Outcomes
1.To be able to comprehend the basic facts in the field of diplomatic history.
2.To be able to comprehend the process from the end of the First World War to the end of the Cold War, and analyze the recent political developments within the world history.
3.Gains knowledge about the war, revolution, and the establishment of nation-states that shaped the 20th century.
4.They gain knowledge about the ideologies that emerged alongside the fascist and authoritarian regimes shaped between the two world wars.
5.Learns about the bipolar world order that dominated post-1945 global politics, as well as the economic and political organizations characteristic of it.
