Objectives of the Course

To get familiar with anatomy of the letters, to understand the importance of anatomical differences in order to typeface characteristics, to internalise the function of typographic elements like kerning, stroke and body, to interpret the content with the form and to experimental works with the letters, to oversee the diversity of letter while carrying a graphic message.

Course Content

Throughout this course students will become more familiar with various letterforms and begin to understand that each typeface has its own personality. The course will provide deep understanding of forms and counter forms that are exist within each letterform. By weaving together free and structured forms, the students will be developing skills that will help in solving design problems where form does follow function.
