Objectives of the Course

The aim of this course is to enable students to understand game-based learning approaches, recognize the role of educational games in learning processes, learn the principles of game design and evaluation, and apply educational games within the context of health education.

Course Content

This course covers the relationship between games and learning, theories of game-based learning, the historical development of educational games, types of educational games, gamification, digital and traditional educational games, game design principles, motivation and learning processes, teamwork, problem-solving skills, applications of educational games in health education, and evaluation of educational games. Students analyze game mechanics that support learning and evaluate educational game examples applicable to health sciences and dental education.
