Objectives of the Course

The aim of this course is to provide students with fundamental knowledge and skills in computer and information technologies and enable them to effectively use digital data management, academic document preparation, presentation development, information retrieval, data security, and digital communication tools. The course also aims to raise awareness of contemporary digital technologies, electronic health record systems, and artificial intelligence-supported tools used in dental education and professional practice, and to ensure their ethical and effective use.

Course Content

This course covers the fundamentals of computer hardware and software, operating systems, file management, word processing applications, spreadsheet software, presentation preparation techniques, data security, digital ethics, cloud technologies, academic databases, reference management systems, online collaboration tools, artificial intelligence-supported applications, electronic health records, and contemporary digital technologies used in dentistry through both theoretical and practical activities. The course aims to provide students with essential digital competencies required in their academic and professional careers.
