Objectives of the Course

The aim of this course is to enable students to develop their skills in patient examination, diagnosis, treatment planning, and clinical practice in the field of restorative dentistry. It is intended that students, under the supervision of faculty members, will be able to evaluate patients, determine appropriate restorative treatment approaches, and perform fundamental clinical procedures in accordance with ethical principles and infection control protocols.

Course Content

Within the scope of this course, students obtain the medical and dental history of patients presenting to the restorative dentistry clinic, perform clinical and radiographic examinations, establish diagnoses, and develop appropriate treatment plans. These evaluations are reviewed by the responsible faculty members and research assistants, who provide feedback to the students. Under faculty supervision, students carry out restorative treatment procedures and gain clinical experience in patient communication, clinical decision-making, material selection, isolation techniques, restorative applications, and patient follow-up. The course also aims to develop students’ ability to work in accordance with infection control protocols, professional ethics, ergonomic principles, and patient safety standards.
