Objectives of the Course

The aim of this course is to introduce students to the concepts of art and aesthetics, provide an understanding of the historical development of aesthetic perception, familiarize them with visual arts and design principles, and raise awareness of the importance of aesthetic evaluation in healthcare services, particularly in dentistry.

Course Content

This course covers the definitions of art and aesthetics, the historical development of aesthetic thought, art movements, visual perception and aesthetic evaluation, design principles, color theory, concepts of proportion and symmetry, cultural and social dimensions of art, aesthetic communication, contemporary approaches to art, and the relationship between aesthetics and health sciences. Students develop aesthetic sensitivity, enhance visual evaluation skills, and assess the reflections of aesthetic principles in dental practice.
