Objectives of the Course

The objective of this course is to provide students with theoretical knowledge about aesthetic, minimally invasive, and contemporary clinical approaches in restorative dentistry; and to teach the planning, material selection, and treatment principles of anterior and posterior aesthetic restorations. By the end of the course, students are expected to evaluate aesthetic restorative applications, determine appropriate treatment approaches for clinical conditions such as non-carious hard tissue lesions and dentin hypersensitivity, and possess knowledge about restoration repair and digital restorative applications.

Course Content

Within the scope of this course, anterior aesthetic restorations and composite veneer applications are covered in detail. Tooth discolorations and their treatment methods, non-carious cervical lesions, dentin hypersensitivity, and their restorative treatment approaches are examined. In addition, restorative treatments for individuals with special needs, restorative approaches in dental anomalies, indirect posterior aesthetic restorations, and fiber-reinforced restorative applications are evaluated. Post and pin applications, diagnosis and treatment of cracked tooth syndrome, principles of minimally invasive dentistry, and the replacement and repair of restorations are among the important topics of the course. Furthermore, digital applications in restorative dentistry and the clinical use of contemporary technologies are also covered theoretically.

Learning Outcomes
1.Plans the appropriate aesthetic treatment approach by evaluating the indications, advantages, and limitations of anterior aesthetic restorations and composite veneer applications.
2.Determines appropriate preventive and restorative treatment options by analyzing the etiology of tooth discolorations, non-carious lesions, and dentin hypersensitivity.
3.Manages restorative treatment processes in individuals with special needs and patients with dental anomalies in a patient-centered manner and in accordance with ethical principles.
4.Selects appropriate materials and techniques by comparing the clinical application principles of indirect posterior restorations, fiber applications, and post and pin systems.
5.Evaluates cracked tooth syndrome, restoration repair, and replacement processes in accordance with the principles of minimally invasive dentistry and applies the appropriate treatment approach.
6.Effectively utilizes digital applications and contemporary technologies used in restorative dentistry in clinical decision-making processes by analyzing them.
