Objectives of the Course

To ensure that dentistry students grasp the basic principles of photography, select appropriate equipment (camera, macro lens, flash systems) in a dental clinical setting, obtain standardized intraoral and extraoral photographic records from patients in compliance with legal and ethical rules, and effectively utilize these records in diagnosis, treatment planning, archiving, and forensic processes.

Course Content

This course covers basic photography knowledge, the relationship between aperture, shutter speed, and ISO, light and exposure theories, lenses, filters, and exposure meters used in dental photography, as well as standardized intraoral and extraoral imaging techniques. Within the scope of the course, continuous practical applications and training on the use of mirrors and retractors are provided in clinical and laboratory settings.
