Objectives of the Course

The aim of this course is to improve students’ interpersonal communication skills, teach effective verbal and non-verbal communication methods, and develop professional communication, trust-building, and empathy skills in dentist-patient interactions.

Course Content

This course covers the basic concepts of communication, communication processes, verbal and non-verbal communication, active listening, empathy, feedback, interpersonal communication skills, dentist-patient communication, teamwork communication, communication barriers, conflict management, and effective communication strategies in professional life. Healthcare communication examples and case analyses are also discussed.
