The aim of this course is to enable students to become familiar with the academic, social, and cultural dimensions of university life, to gain fundamental knowledge about the functioning of the higher education system, and to support their adaptation process to university. Within the scope of the course, students are expected to develop skills in effective communication within the university environment, fulfilling their academic responsibilities, adopting ethical values, and actively participating in the institutional structure. The course also aims to raise awareness of personal development, lifelong learning, and well-being processes.
Within the scope of this course, the concept of the university, the structure and functioning of the higher education system, and the academic and administrative units of the university are discussed. Students are provided with information about the rules governing university life, academic ethical principles, and student responsibilities. The course also examines student communities, social, cultural, and artistic activities, factors affecting the adaptation process to university life, and potential challenges that students may encounter during this process. In addition, the course aims to enable students to use university resources effectively, achieve social adaptation, and support their personal development.
