Objectives of the Course

he aim of this course is to enable students to understand the social determinants of oral health, public attitudes and behaviors related to oral health, health inequalities, the impact of cultural factors on dental practice, and the role of dentists in promoting community health.

Course Content

This course covers the social dimensions of health and disease, social determinants of oral health, health behaviors, culture and health relationships, health literacy, health inequalities, oral health problems among disadvantaged groups, ethics and social responsibility, dentist-patient relationships, community oral health programs, and social awareness in dentistry. Current social health issues and community-based approaches are discussed throughout the course.
