The following are the aims: Accurate assessment of patients' vital signs and improvement of the recognition of conditions outside normal limits, Use of accurate measurement and method in monitoring vital parameters, Recognition of monitor indicators, pre-anesthesia preparation, general anesthesia and sedation, Acquisition of basic level drug and airway control information used in applications, Acquisition of information in the General Anesthesia and Sedation Applications Guideline in Dentistry.
In dentistry, this training covers the accurate assessment and monitoring of patients' vital signs, basic medications, methods, and airway control information used in general anesthesia and sedation applications, as well as the fundamental topics and approach systematics outlined in the General Anesthesia and Sedation Applications Guidelines for Dentistry.
| 1. | The student knows the normal range for vital signs, identifies abnormal conditions, and explains measurement methods and how measurements are taken.The student understands what monitoring is, the measurement methods used, and the characteristics that define them. They analyze the monitored parameters and recognize the monitor indicators. |
| 2. | The candidate should be familiar with the definitions of anesthesia levels described in the General Anesthesia and Sedation Practices in Dentistry Guidelines, and the scales used in patient monitoring and discharge. They should be able to explain the issues addressed according to the patient and the nature of the procedure. |
| 3. | The pre-anesthesia preparation period is analyzed by determining the risk of anesthesia, performing perioperative tests and measurements, and examining the patient's pharmacological status, habits, and preoperative food intake. |
| 4. | They possess basic knowledge about the medications used in general anesthesia and sedation procedures. |
| 5. | The student will recognize airway obstruction, explain methods for restoring airway patency, and describe techniques for providing ventilation with a face mask. |
| 6. | They will understand the definition, indications, types, and application methods of endotracheal intubation. They will also explain the indications, advantages, and disadvantages of nasotracheal intubation. |
