Objectives of the Course

The aim of this course is to enable dental students to establish effective, accurate, and professional communication with dental laboratory technicians, understand the importance of clinic-laboratory collaboration in successful patient treatment, and develop teamwork, professional communication, and coordination skills.

Course Content

This course covers the fundamental principles of communication between dentists and dental technicians, laboratory workflow, preparation of laboratory prescriptions, case planning, shade selection and esthetic communication, digital workflows, clinic-laboratory coordination, error management, teamwork, ethical and professional responsibilities, and communication processes contributing to patient satisfaction. Communication problems and solution strategies are evaluated through case-based discussions.
